I'm on my way to seattle childrens with my good friends shannon & karen from the picu! Shannon kept me breathing during my first mri, so mommy trusts her whole heartedly to take care of me. Mom & dad may be a bit busy with new docs and nurses, so don't be mad at them if they don't get an update done. Talk to you all soon!

Hi Collin. And greetings to your loving parents Chet and Micah. Everyone in Portland is following your progress and daily challenges. We are all learning so much about your condition , diagnostic studies, and the medications being used to stabilize you while you are in the hospital. So many emotions and daily decisions for your parents and your medical treatment team to face. You have always been a special miracle, and very loved as you have lived your precious little life to it's fullest-just look at the family photos full of joy. We have human limitations and cannot assure you what is in your future, but want you to know that you have touched all of our lives in ways we did not know existed, and your parents' dedication has been an inspiration above admiration. Love to you from Portland.

Collin,
The MRI news today seems like a step backward-one good thought tho, is that we have more info about what is happening, and you still have many many many brain cells to direct your muscles and thinking and whole body! We have been ready, and we will, run the long distance with you. It's more than the 800 meter or mile race that your mom ran in high school. It's more like a marathon now, and I won't give up.
Your heart is strong and your breathing is good. That red snow mobile is still waiting for you at home. And have Dad show you the snow from your window tomorrow.
See you again soon. I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART. Chet, I know he is a boy, but he has always been my sweetheart too. Grandma Sheryl

We have lots of snow here. It's 17 degrees. We have icicles hanging from our roof and from all the birdhouses. A little head kept peeking out of a birdhouse hole this afternoon, I guess he was staying in, keeping warm and dry like me. Checked in hoping to find more good news, but oh my, this is not what we wanted to hear. But I too, believe in an awesome God. Today I happened to read about spirit warfare, and about miracles.
Miracles are still very real and occur everyday, somewhere, in someone's life. Thinking about you guys tonight, and now I'm going to go talk with the Man In Charge. Try to get some rest, prayers are still with you in a great way.

Chet & Micah: Your description of class had me giggling. There is a ton of experience with g-tubes on our list serve. And a few weeks ago was Feeding Tube Awareness Week (believe it or not). One of my favorite mommy bloggers wrote this blog post about a funny experience with a tube in their family. I hope it makes you giggle too.

I have been checking daily on Collin and praying. Looks like my prayers are being heard after watch video with the physical therapist! Seeing him have life in his face brought a smile to my face!

I totally can relate with bodily fluids and open wounds. I would pass out and have always tend to move away from such things.

I will be so delighted to see Collin as I see him in the photos flashing to the right of where I'm typing. He's just the cutest little guy. All of you are so brave and patient which I have to commend you on.

I will continue to come visit and read your entries and watch your videos which I must say are very good compared to my few attempts of working with a video camera!

Hugs and Prayers for all of you.

Keep up the great work, Collin. We miss you!

Dear Collin,

We were really impressed with the army of stuffed animals you are building-they are some good cuddly friends to keep you company! Alex's mommy is very late with everything, so your Valentine will be there later this week. We hope you like it. You have so many folks wishing you love and strength while you nap.

Keep on fighting, little man.

All the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in His sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Moses in the wilderness reminded the Israelites that "the Lord your God is the faithful God who for a 1000 generations keeps His promises." And that their God had promised "I will go before them and protect them and provide and guide them". He promises the same today.

And again Jeremiah in all his trials and crying came to the conclusion "Oh Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thy outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for thee". Jer 32:17
And God answers back to Jeremiah, :Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for Me? Jer 32:27
God can,and we believe is, fixing and repairing His precious creation, Collin. God created that 18 chromosome and every cell and dna and laugh and smile and love in Collin that inspires us, humiliates us, and points us upward to His miracles and compassinate LOVE. We pray and pray some more not stoppping. I Love you.

dear Collin,
You remember when we tried to watch Curious George on your TV and it didn't work? We pushed too many buttons and got the TV and George disc all mixed up. Then daddy Chet came home and fixed it!! Daddy fixed the TV so it could "talk" to the Curious George disc and then the disc could send back to your TV screen the pictures and story about George.. Daddy repaired the communcations.!!
We also have a Father in Heaven that knows all about you and EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING!! He knows more than daddy Chet (sorry Chet) and He is repairing and fixing your arms and legs and fingers and toes and head and eyes and nose and mouth and ears to talk to each other again, just like the TV and George. So soon you will wake up and see mommy and daddy and talk to them. We all love you. You ae very brave and curious and strong!
